Los Angeles County Democratic Party Unanimously Endorses The School Facilities Bond Act of 2016

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) unanimously endorsed the “The School Facilities Bond Act of 2016” at its monthly meeting.  The measure will provide $9 billion to help build and repair schools in districts all across California, including $2 billion for community colleges.  This bond act is on the ballot for the November 8, 2016 election.

The “The School Facilities Bond Act of 2016” provides necessary funding for the construction and repair of thousands of schools across the state which are in dire need as prior school bond funding has been depleted for some time.  The 2016 bond will enable infrastructure improvements to meet the needs of our children, teachers, and schools. LACDP joins more than 100 school districts, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, and many other elected officials and education proponents in support of this act.

Los Angeles County Democratic Party Chair and California Democratic Party Vice Chair Eric C. Bauman said:

“I am proud to announce that LACDP has unanimously endorsed the ‘The School Facilities Bond Act of 2016’ on the November 2016 ballot.  In order to meet the needs of our children and our teachers, we must mend and expand California’s school facilities. If California is to compete academically, then we must continue to invest in our children’s education and in their future.”
